Users who upgrade old locks need to pay attention to the following points:

1，Multi-directional measurement of old locks.(refer to the picture example)

1-1. Measure the size of the old lock panel.

We have many different sizes of smart locks, please refer to the product details for details, make sure the size of the smart lock you choose can replace the old lock. (1. New doors do not need to consider this. 2. Double-hole American doors recommend C87/C88 with traditional mechanical door handles)

1-2. Measure the distance between the center point of the old lock's mechanical keyhole and the edge of the door.

Models we support are:20xx，25xx，28xx，30xx，35xx，40xx，45xx，50xx，60xx，65xx，70xx，75xx.

1-3. Measure the distance between the center point of the old lock handle and the mechanical key hole.

Models we support are:xx50，xx68，xx72，xx85.*Single-tongue(#DS) lock bodies are not affected.

1-4. Measuring the old lock Mortise faceplate size.

*Mortise faceplate supports the 5050 lock body size of 145*23mm.
*default Mortise faceplate size for other lock bodies is 230*23mm.
*Single-tongue(#DS) lock bodies are not affected.

2，Measuring the thickness of the door. (refer to the picture example)

Door thickness we support is around 35-120mm. If your door thickness does not meet this requirement, please contact Locstar staff after purchase. They will manually adjust the screw length to ensure that the product can be installed and used normally after receipt!

3，Determine the direction of the lock handle. Right handle(A/B) Left handle(C/D). (refer to the picture example)

Currently, only the 8058/8072 models require confirmation of the handle installation direction before shipment. Other models do not require confirmation. We will upgrade and solve the problem as soon as possible!

✔️ Backset
Distance between the edge of the door and the centre of the door lock.

✔️ Door Stile/Frame
The door stile/frame is the flat surface area where the smart door lock is mounted, and the minimum door stile refers to the minimum surface area required for a specific lock. Check the 'Fitment' section of each lock to find its minimum door stile requirement.

✔️ Mortise/Mortise Lock
A type of lock that is installed within a door, with the lock body embedded or recessed into a mortise pocket within the door. A mortise lock size usually refers to the Backset of that specific mortise.
For example, 'Swing - 28mm' = Mortise lock with a 28mm Backset for a Swing Door.

✔️ Latch
A spring-loaded mechanism that keeps the door closed when engaged and can be released by turning a doorknob or lever.

✔️ Deadbolt
A bolt that extends into the door jamb to prevent the door from being forced open.

✔️ Striker Plate/Strike Plate
The a metal plate that is installed on a door jamb or frame where the door latch or deadbolt extends into to keep the door securely closed.

The strike box is the plastic box installed behind the strike plate and is attached to the door frame with screws. When the door is closed, the latch or bolt on the lock extends into the strike plate box.

Perfect patio door lock

As a customer who values both security and aesthetics, I am very pleased with the aluminum patio door lock I recently installed. It is durable, made from high-grade materials, and features a smooth and secure locking mechanism. Its sleek, modern design complements my patio door and is easy to install with just a mortise hole drilled. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a patio door lock that is durable, stylish, and easy to install.

It worked!

Our door is apparently not standard and finding a lock that fit was challenging. This lock was the closest we found and while it wasn't perfect (becausa of the door, not the lock), we were able to get it to work. My only complaint, and why the 4 vs 5 stars, is the the installation directions were very lacking.

Drilling holes in the door during the installation of the smart lock is indeed difficult because it involves mortise and tenon joints, which is the only difficulty in the whole process. The installation of the front and back panels of the smart lock is very simple, and we provide videos for operation guidance. Recommendable product, very good

It works perfectly and looks great. At first I saw some scratches on the surface and thought I bought a used product until Shawn told me to remove the protective film on the surface. I was surprised! I really appreciate their customer service, they are very responsive.

Nice quality and straightforward install

It was difficult finding a smart lock for my sliding door, so I was skeptical on fit and function. This one has really exceeded my expectations though, as far ad quality of product and set up.

I’m just an average DIYer retrofitting my handles, and the only hard part was drilling and cutting the holes to install. For pros, it’ll be very easy. For average homeowner, YMMV as long as you have the right tools to cut through the aluminum/metal frame. There’s a provided template to follow, and once all that’s done, attaching the handle itself just took minutes.

There’s a English app you’ll need to install (TTlock) which lets you finalize setting it up，worked great. I’m sure you can delete and clear it after set up if you’re concerned about privacy.

What I love about this handle is that the fingerprint sensor is very accurate. It comes with two little cards that you’ll need to program if you want to use that instead, or just use the numerical keypad. Haven’t had any issues getting locked out at all.

Also to clarify, unlike deadbolt locks which will automatically lock itself, this one has an “auto lock” but you’ll still need to twist the handle upwards to mechanically engage the lock. “Locking” in this case makes it so the exterior handle does not engage the lock mechanism.

Was cautious at first, but turns out...it's a good lock!

Searched and searched for a 'sliding' door smart lock and stumbled on this one. If you have tools to mill, the lock comes with a template. If not, hire someone with the appropriate tools to have it professionally installed. It's worth it. ! Feedback from my use and from the installer:

Pros:
- Nice look and feel, voice prompts and responses are crystal clear.
- Audible notification when the door is locked/unlocked.
- Easy setup for fingerprint and the key-card registration. Literally took less than 30 seconds!
- Can send e-keys (even to multiple recipients at once) via text message or email
- E-keys offer lots of flexibility. They can be timed (i.e for visitors), permanant (no end date), or selected days (i.e key only works on Mondays!)
- Manual or app generated (4-9 digit) pass-codes that can be shared via sms or email
- Physical keys (2 incl) if the 4 AA batteries run out of juice and you can't use a pin or key-card (2 incl)
- Narrow footprint (1/2 inch wide) means it should fit most doors (mine is an Anderson sliding, with integrated blinds).
- You can opt to install this in conjunction with the original door lock; original lock can then serve as an indoor safetly lock.
- The lock is compatible to Google Home, Nest, Alexa, etc.

Cons:
- The mortise lock (I'm told!) wasn't the same build quality as the installer was accustomed to (i.e. a little flimsy, but works well!); hard opening and closing might cause a failure in the mortise.
- The app appears sketchy at first but that's only because the included QR code to download the app, redirects you to Chinese language site (you can translate on the site). You can also opt to download the app from Google Play (trusted download).
- Sharing e-keys means the recpient has to install the TT Lock App for proximity opening/closing
- The app will only unlock the door via proximity (note:If you need to unlock it on the other side of the world, you need to use it with a smart gateway. They sell this product in their store. ）
